Course Description: A 22-mile loop in the back country of San Diego County with approx. 1,800 ft of climbing per lap. Starting at the Golden Acorn Casino parking lot, riders will have a neutral roll out of the parking lot with a controlled left turn onto Old Hwy 80. Race starts heading West along Old Hwy 80 gradually descending 3 miles turning right on Tierra Del Sol and then Right onto Campo road continuing to descend another 7 miles. At La Posta Rd. Make a right turn with a sudden steep climb followed by 11 miles of undulating up and down climbing ~1,600 ft to the finish line located at the top of Old Hwy 80. * Note: Men's Novice and Women's Novice are both open classes. Formerly called Cat 5 this class allows non-racers or first time racers a chance to compete. This category is open to all ages and required a 1-day license from USA Cycling.

Rules: The course is open to traffic. Centerline rule is enforced. All riders are required to follow all rules of the road. Feeding is only allowed within the designated area. No parking on race course side. No individual support vehicles are allowed. All riders are self-supported so bring your own tubes. No time trial bikes, or aero bars allowed. Must be present to accept awards / prizes.
Registration: Register online at https://www.boulevardroadrace.com . Riders under 18 must have a parent/legal guardian “wet” signature on the release form (no electronic signatures). All riders must fill out a San Diego County release on the day of the event. Entry fee includes $5.99 insurance fee and $0.50 SCNCA surcharges. All riders must present a valid USA Cycling license at registration. Registration opens 1 hour before each race & closes 15 minutes before start. Unlicensed riders may race any of the Novice options listed and will need to purchase a one-day USA Cycling license online or at registration the morning of the event for $15.

SCNCA Championship Eligibility: Only USA citizens or permanent residents holding an annual USAC license and residing in the SCNCA region are eligible for championship titles, however the event will be open to riders not meeting championship eligibility requirements.
SCNCA championship titles are only for the following categories and classes Pro/1/2/3 Men and women, junior men and women, Masters Men and Women (scored in 5=year age groups). Category 4 and 5 and collegiate racers are not state championship eligible, nor are 35+ 4/5 riders. A minimum of four riders starting a race is required for a category or class to be a championship race; junior races are exempt from this requirement.
